Medicare 2013: Are you Ready For Medicare?
Come and get a general overview of Medicare and what you need to know about it. Also, the Medicare Annual Election Period takes place October 15 to December 7, and allows seniors to buy a prescription drug plan or change their existing plan. Counselors will provide an introduction to Medicare Part D options and assist participants with finding a plan that meets their individual needs. Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) provides unbiased information to help make the best choice for your individual health care needs. HICAP is a statewide, state and federally funded program for Medicare beneficiaries and their families. All of these services are provided by highly trained, volunteer counselors who are registered by the California Department of Aging. The program is sponsored by Self-Help for the Elderly.
