Literacy for Life
This year’s annual Literacy Breakfast is called Literacy for Life: How our brains change and advance our growth and knowledge through childhood, teen, and mature adult years.
The key note speaker will be Barbara Strauch, deputy science editor of The New York Times in charge of health and medical science and the author of several books, including The Secret Life of the Grown-up Brain and The Primal Teen (addressing the teenage brain).
Continuum of Growth
Other speakers will address the continuum of life’s literacy growth during the children and teen years. Please contact Jeanine Asche at 650.312.5312 or by email with any questions.
Jeanine Asche has over 30 years of library experience working mostly with children and families. In her spare time, besides reading of course, she dabbles in painting, enjoys hiking with her husband and family, and spends time refereeing her animal menagerie--a crazy lab mix, a rambunctious kitten, and occasionally, her spirited "grand puppy".
