Whole Earth DisciplineWhen a new book by Stewart Brand hits the shelves I sit up and take notice. When it deals with climate change it really gets my attention. What does the old master have to add to the debate?

It Will Stimulate Your Mind

Whole Earth Discipline: An Ecopragmatist Manifesto  doesn't disappoint. It's a great read and it's thought provoking. Be prepared to re-examine your assumptions concerning nuclear power and genetic engineering (to name just two things).

Science Doesn't Have to Be Scary

This book is a particularly good antidote to the atmosphere of fear and pessimism that seems to accompany any discussion of science. If you want to remind yourself how and where all this started you might want to grab a copy of The (Updated) Last Whole Earth Catalog: Access To Tools.
