The East Palo Alto Farmers’ Market is back! This Market is put together by a fantastic organization called Collective Roots. Collective Roots is a nonprofit organization founded and based in East Palo Alto, CA.
This organization is working to educate the youth of the community and the community itself about the benefits of fresh homegrown fruits and vegetables. They do this by working with school and community sites to design and sustain organic gardens and by providing curriculum to K-12 grade schools. Collective Roots also works to provide access to fresh, locally grown, healthy and affordable produce with such initiatives as the East Palo Alto Farmers’ Market.
The East Palo Alto Community Farmers' Market is a community-based and youth-focused Certified Farmers' Market. Founded in June 2008, the Market seeks to provide a source of fresh, healthy and local produce, and a friendly community gathering space, right here in East Palo Alto.
What Forms of Payment Do They Accept?
EBT/food stamps, WIC FMNP, and senior FMNP checks are always accepted at the Market. Customers using these forms of payment are entitled to be treated with the very same respect and dignity that all shoppers at the East Palo Alto Community Farmers' Market deserve.”
Inspired by All the Fruits and Vegetables? Overwhelmed?

Our Library has many resources to help you learn about and create your own sustainable garden in your backyard, apartment, or wherever you might live. You can find a list of the materials about gardening available at the EPA Library here: EPA Gardening Materials.
Once you grow or buy your food from the farmers’ market, you might want to learn about some of the best ways to prepare it! Here are some great resources for preparing a home cooked meal.
