TEACHER REFERENCE RESOURCES
The PLS website contains
a wide variety of resources to help you and your students. These include:
- Web Sites for Teachers
and Homeschoolers : a collection of resources compiled by
local librarians for California educators.
- Online Catalog : online access to the catalog for all of the
libraries in San Mateo County. From here you can search for items
in the library system, place holds on items to have them sent
to the library closest to you, check your record, and renew your
books.
- Gale
Databases (Infotrac) : a large database of current magazine
and newspaper articles that can be searched and printed in full-text.
- eLibrary: from
home | from your library
a
database that includes magazines and newspaper articles, radio
transcripts, encyclopedias, maps, and pictures that can be searched
and printed in full-text.

netLibrary : a collection of electronic books in full-text
you can read online and search for specific words and phrases.
This includes a number of literary classics and Cliffsnotes.
- AskNow
: a resource that allows you and your students to find the answers
to questions by chatting live with a reference librarian.
OTHER RESOURCES
Your PLS library card allows you access to materials
from 32 libraries. You can have these items sent to the library closest
to you by placing a hold from the Online
Catalog. Besides our large collection of books, the library also provides:

- Bilingual and foreign language materials
