Black History Month - February 2008 |
In 1926 Dr. Carter G. Woodson launched Negro History Week as a means of bringing national attention to the many contributions of various African Americans throughout American history. Fifty years later, in 1976 Negro History Week became Black History Month. A month to empower, remember, and embrace the roles African Americans have played in history.
