A library card issued at any one of our Libraries
entitles you to use the resources and services available at all
the libraries in the Peninsula
Library System. Please be aware that remote use of some online
databases is limited to card holders of the subscribing Library.

Fees and Fines
Details on the fees and fines of the Peninsula Library System. If you have questions about a fee or fine you've been assessed, please call your local library.
Get a library card If you live anywhere in San Mateo County, applying for a library card is as simple as filling out this form. You will receive your card in the mail or get a confirmation when your library card is ready to be picked up. (This may take up to 3 business days.) If you live outside of San Mateo County but in California, you may get a card by coming into any San Mateo County Library.
View your account
Click on Online Catalog, then click on Your Library Account. After
entering your library card number and PIN (the last 4 digits of your telephone
number), you will be able to view items you have checked out, renew items,
view library fines and items you have reserved. Click here to see

Request Items
Electronically
Search the Online Catalog for the item you wish to borrow. Click on
Place hold, enter your 14-digit library card number, your PIN (the last
4 digits of your telephone number), and choose the library where you want to pickup the requested item.
You will be notified when the item is ready for pickup at the library

Get your notices by email
Wondering if that latest bestseller you requested is waiting
for you? We will send you an email when items are ready to pick-up,
or if your items are overdue.
Renew items three ways
1. Your library account to renew materials online.
2. Telephone Renewal System (TRS) – call our automated voice system at (650) 638-0399 anytime day or night.
3. Visit or phone your local library.
