You can now create, open and save files
on the Library’s public computers. Files can be saved to a 3.5” diskette or to a USB flash drive. The flash drive must be
plug/play for Windows XP. USB drives are usually mapped to the D, E or F drive. When
saving to a diskette, use the A or default drive.
You can print documents and files. The first 3 pages are free and $.15 per additional page.
Staff are not able to provide instruction on these applications but can provide you with
published tutorials and information on area classes and training.

Q: What software is available?
A: Office XP Standard which includes: Word 2002, Excel 2002 and Power Point 2002, Adobe Reader, and Microsoft Photo Editor. Microsoft Publisher 2003 available at the East Palo Alto Librray only.
Q: What storage devices can I use?
A: A 3.5”diskette or a USB plug/play storage device.
Q: What drive will my USB device connect to?
A: Usually the D drive , but occasionally you will connect to E or F drive.

Q: Is there a time limit on my use of Office XP?
A: Sessions are one hour. Internet use

A: No.
Q: Will staff be able to assist in using the software?
A: No. Staff do not provide instruction on how to use the software. Staff will assist if there are technical problems.

A: Print charges are managed by the Internet Manager. The first 3 pages are free, $.15

Q: Can I upload my file, such as a resume, to a web site or email account?
A: Yes, from a floppy or removable storage device..
Q: Can I download a file?
A: Yes. If download requires right clicking, it disabled for security reasons. Programs can not be installed on the computers. |
