Anne Packer Reads from SONGS WITHOUT WORDS

Packer’s latest novel expertly navigates the politics of a close friendship between two women and asks the question: What happens when a relationship you’ve treasured all your life suddenly seems broken beyond repair? Her previous book, The Dive from Clausen’s Pier, won the Kate Chopin Literary Award and was the first ever “Good Morning America” book club selection. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing. This program is free and open to all.

Places in Time - Maxine Schur

With high spirits and little money Maxine Rose Schur set out to see the world. She faced the violent grief of a Mexican sheriff, celebrated a wild elopement in Turkey and was initiated into a mysterious daily ritual with an Iranian forest ranger. Looking back, she tempers her youthful encounters with mid-life wisdom, capturing the spirit of those she met, and evoking cherished places in time. Places in Time was voted “2006 Best Travel Book of the Year” by the North American Travel Journalists Association. A book signing will follow her presentation.
