Pick up a passport to these events at the library. Get your passport stamped every time that you attend a different event. Once you collect three stamps you’ll be entitled to a prize. For more information on any of these events please contact Kathleen Beasley at 650-312-5274.

Maxine Rose Schur Reading from Places in Time: Reflections on a Journey
Schur set out to see the world. With high spirits and little money, the author traveled not only far geographically, but emotionally, toward the hearts of others. She faced the violent grief of a Mexican sheriff, celebrated a wild elopement in Turkey and was initiated into a mysterious daily ritual with an Iranian forest ranger. Looking back, she tempers her youthful encounters with mid-life wisdom, capturing the spirit of those she met, and evoking cherished places in time. Places in Time was voted 2006 Best Travel Book of the Year by the North American Travel Journalists Association. A book-signing will follow Schur’s presentation.
