It's hard to believe it's almost fall. When I look back fondly on this past summer, one of the highlights will definitely be…ice cream.
I Scream for Ice Cream. I Really Do.
Let's face it: ice cream is really good any time of the year, any time of the day. Run out of cream for your coffee? Put in a scoop of ice cream! Why not have an It's It sandwich for lunch? Surely this banana split, with its banana, cherry, and nuts is a hearty dinner that satisfies my nutritional needs. If warm milk is soothing before bed, perhaps microwaving this ice cream will push me into new levels of deep sleep.
The Real San Francisco Treat
This summer, I spent many quality hours in line, debating what flavor to try at Humphry Slocombe. I made my first ever stop in the Dog Patch neighborhood to try Mr. and Mrs. Miscellaneous. Mitchell's delighted me with their always astonishing array of flavors. I enjoyed some wonderful take-out ice cream from St. Francis Fountain. Oh yes, I said it: take-out ice cream.
A Real Contender
But maybe one of my favorite discoveries was Willie Nelson's Country Peach Cobbler, a Ben & Jerry's Flavor. What could I love more than peach pie? Well, let's just say peach pie ice cream has nearly succeeded in stealing my heart!
And then there's Willie Nelson. 78 years old and still going strong. Outlaw country singer, biofuel advocate, author, actor, philanthropist, activist, and total all-around cool guy. Why not sit back, listen to The Essential Willie Nelson, and say hello to fall…and the seasonal bliss that is pumpkin ice cream!
