Litquake Lineup Looks Awesome!

Litquake logo.Litquake is San Francisco's annual festival of literature devoted to the printed (or spoken, or texted or...) word. This year the festival will take place October 7-15 in more than 75 venues around the City.

This year's Litquake looks to be bigger and more global than ever, including a number of well known out-of-town authors appearing for the first time. New offerings this year include a Teenquake reading, author conversations on stage, and different themed readings.

The most anticipated event of the festival is the annual Litcrawl, featuring dozens of venues hosting readings in one evening along the Valencia Street corridor.

Here is a selection of the authors scheduled to appear at the festival, many of them making their Litquake debut.

  • Catherine Coulter - Best-selling thriller and suspense author of 65 novels.
  • James Ellroy - Master of noir in conversation with Janis Cooke Newman.
  • Jeffrey Eugenides - Author of the The Virgin Suicides, Middlesex and the upcoming The Marriage Plot.
  • Daniel Handler - Author and San Francisco resident who moonlights as Lemony Snicket.
  • Adam Mansbach - Fiction writer responsible for Go the F*** To Sleep among other more literary works.
  • Cyra McFadden - Beloved Bay Area author, columnist and satirist.
  • Thomas McGuane - Novelist, screenwriter and essayist in conversation with Jack Boulware.
