Fashion a book cover from a cereal box or old mail, stuff with paper, and bind your own pocket-sized blank book. You'll want to raid your recycling bin to make more for your friends.

Peopleologie focuses on people, places, traditions, lives, and practices.  Workshops treat participants to an inside look at ancient and contemporary indigenous life and the preservation of cultural heritage around the world.

Where were you at 5:04 pm, October 14, 1989?  Join producer/director and baseball fan Jon Leonoudakis for a screening of his new documentary, “The Day the World Series Stopped”, with Q&A session to follow.  A lifetime Giants fan, Jon attended Game Three armed with a camcorder and still camera.  Jon’s original footage paints a picture of a beautiful, Indian summer late afternoon that took a left-turn into the pages of history and Bay Area lore.  Be a part of this exclusive Bay Area tour on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earth

Model Design For 3D Printing

Learn how to use free, online tools to design three-dimensional models. Students can submit a completed design after the class, which will be fabricated for you in plastic on our 3D printer. For ages 13-18.

Description:

Follow the process from cotton boll to cloth and from sheep to sweater. It’s all about fibers, from start to finish. How many threads are you wearing? Where do they come from, and how do they stick together? How is cloth made? Learn all about the oldest methods known to human beings for staying warm and cool!

This workshop will take place over 3 consecutive weeks. We will be creating something wonderful. Attendance to all 3 is recommended but not required.

Celebrate Teen Read Week with Cake Decorating

Join us after hours to decorate a cake in a manner that best represents your favorite book. All supplies will be provided, but you want to bring special tools, please do so. You can also work in teams. Staff will vote on the best cake and the winner(s) will get a gift certificate to the Cheese Cake Factory. Open to 6th graders and older.
