Seduction: Japan’s Floating World Docent Lecture

The establishment of new licensed entertainment districts in the late 1600’s unleashed a creative explosion in Edo (present day Tokyo). This Docent Lecture will feature paintings and woodblock prints that are juxtaposed with textiles, ceramics, lacquers and other daily-life objects from the Edo period (1915 – 1868). On exhibit at the Asian Art Museum from February 20 to May 10.
