The de Young Museum will be the first venue in the American tour of paintings from the Royal Picture Gallery Mauritshuis, The Hague. On exhibit from January 26 to June 2 is the world’s most prestigious collection of Dutch Golden Age paintings. The docent lecture will show examples from this period, which includes the masterpiece Girl with the Pearl Earring (c. 1665) by Johannes Vermeer.
