Edible EdVentures for Teens

Students explore four ingredients harvested from rainforests around the world and learn how these plants get from nature to the table. Lesson activity includes making ice cream using some of the featured ingredients!

For youth in 5th-9th grades. Prior signup is required on a class-by-class basis, and can be accomplished by calling or visiting the library six days prior to each workshop.

T3: Sharpie Tie Dye

Tie-dye is often messy to make, but neat to look at. Why should you have to deal with the mess when you can do with a few cool sharpies, some rubbing alcohol, and something to tie-dye?

We'll provide up to one t-shirt and sock to participants. You are also welcome to bring your items to tie-dye, just make sure you get permission to personalize the clothing before we alter it forever.

Pollination & Bee Nests for Teens

Students will identify the anatomical parts of a flower and learn the mechanisms of pollination and why it is important in nature. Students will build their own Bee Box to place in a yard or garden, providing a nesting habitat for native bees.​
