Minecraft Day: Programming Java (3 days)

This is a great way for kids who love games to learn programming. We use Java, a programming language, on a real server that your child will setup and configure. Kids enjoy seeing the immediate results of their learning and are highly motivated to understand the capabilities and techniques of Java. This 3-day camp also draws on their imaginative abilities, creating new Minecraft mods that they’ve dreamed up but never thought they could build. Your child will leave camp with the ability to host their own Minecraft server for friends to collaborate on.

Bay Area Discovery Museum: Push, Pull, Crash

A Museum educator will lead a whole group circle time and then support families to question, problem solve, and communicate ideas at five investigation stations.

Arthropods by Nature Connection

Students will learn about the major groups of arthropods, examine and learn about the structure and functions of 3 live arthropods: the Madagascar hissing cockroach, the Giant African millipede(s) and a Sonoran Desert vinegaroon. Students will design and build their own imaginary animal out of modeling clay and be able to describe how their creatures move, eat, and protect themselves in nature.
