Realty Workshop: Rent or Buy?

Event Type: Workshop|Class
Date:
Wednesday, 05/20/15 at 7:00 pm
Library: Millbrae
Ages: Adults
Description: While the prevailing belief is that buying a home is always a better investment than renting an apartment, this traditional rule-of-thumb rarely reflects the true costs of home-ownership. Longtime Millbrae resident and Data Scientist, Rik Ganju, will share the fruits of countless hours combining over 100 years of home sales and rental rates data to provide a realistic, county-level assessment of the value of purchasing a home versus renting. This work is now being edited by David Crook, recently retired Wall Street Journal senior editor who authored two WSJ-branded books on home ownership.
