Reading for Democracy!

This year the Annual Literacy Breakfast will take place on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 7:30-10:00 AM at Poplar Creek Grill, 1700 Coyote Point Drive, San Mateo, CA. Tickets are $35 per person with breakfast buffet included. The theme this year is "Literacy for Democracy."

Reading, literacy and the ability to access information are essential to our democratic process. This has been well demonstrated in recent news about the Occupy movement, Arab Spring, the upcoming election, and discussions about civil political discourse.

This year’s breakfast, “Literacy for Democracy,” will address this timely topic with speakers including California State Assemblymember Jerry Hill, political satirist Will Durst, and Kevin Vogeltanz from The Dovetail Project, a group messaging application company.

If you are interested in attending, please register and purchase tickets here. We hope to see you there!
