Teen Poetry ContestThursday, March 3rd marks the opening of the Half Moon Bay Library Teen Poetry Contest. Enter and you could be a winner!

Contest Rules

  1. Open to people ages 12-19 who live within the Coastside area served by the Half Moon Bay Library.
  2. Entry must be original work – all forms of poetry will be accepted.
  3. One entry per person. Individually authored poems only. (No group efforts please.) Maximum length: two typed pages. Please submit poem on 8.5 x 11” size paper.
  4. All poems must be typed. Untyped poems will not be judged.
  5. Poem may be in English or Spanish or bilingual (both original and translation must be by the same teen poet)
  6. Entries must be received between March 3rd and April 10th, 2016 at the Half Moon Bay Library or via the online submission form.
  7. Winners will be notified by email or phone.
  8. By submitting a poem to this contest, the author gives the Library permission to include the poem in its digital or print Poetry Contest collection.

Last day to submit: Saturday, April 10th, 2016 by 5:00 pm.

English and Spanish language poems will be judged separately and awarded their own set of prizes.
All prizes are checks (not giftcards).

Poetry reading will be held Thursday, April 28th from 7-8 pm.
