Teen Poetry ContestThursday, March 5th marks the opening of the Half Moon Bay Library Teen Poetry Contest. Enter and you could be a winner!

Contest Rules

  1. Open to people ages 12-19 who live within the Coastside area served by the Half Moon Bay Library.
  2. Entry must be original work – all forms of poetry will be accepted.
  3. One entry per person. Individually authored poems only. (No group efforts please.) Maximum length: two typed pages. Please submit poem on 8.5 x 11” size paper. (Please type or print clearly.)
  4. Poem may be in English or Spanish or bilingual (both original and translation must be by the same teen poet)
  5. Entry form must be attached to poem; original poem will not be returned.
  6. Entries must be received between March 4th and April 15th, 2015 at the Half Moon Bay Library.
  7. Winners will be notified by email or phone.
  8. By submitting a poem to this contest, the author gives the Library permission to include the poem in its digital or print Poetry Contest collection.

Last day to submit: Wednesday, April 15th, 2015 by 6:00 pm.

English and Spanish language poems will be judged separately and awarded their own set of prizes.
All prizes are checks (not giftcards).

Poetry reading will be held Thursday, April 30th from 7-8 pm.
