An Evening With Author Val McDermid

I attended this event and would like to let you know how much I enjoyed seeing Val McDermid in person. Kathleen, the Belmont Library Manager, in my opinion, once again, did an outstanding job introducing the author, offering the audience a chance to ask questions or make comments and allowing us to purchase the latest novel "Retribution" by Val McDermid. I have not yet read any of her books, but after hearing her read part of her latest one, I certainly look forward to reading one of them. I especially enjoyed hearing the author read from her own book, from a portion she chose herself, and with her Scottish accent (please forgive me if I did not express myself precisely), it seemed to add some humor and flair for the dramatic, and I am definitely planning on reading one of her books very soon (if I can stand the suspense, that is.) Thank you for all who helped Kathleen make this author event excellent, although I am not personally aware of how these author events are organized, coordinated, advertised, etc. so I certainly hope that praise is given where it is deserved.
