East Palo Alto Quest Learning Center
The Quest Learning Center is a free, literacy-based after school program at the East Palo Alto Library.
1. Must be a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader enrolled in the Ravenswood City School District.
2. Must attend 3 days per week (any 3 days Monday-Friday).
3. Parent/Guardian must pick up their child & sign them out every day. They can designate/authorize other adults to do this on the application.
The Quest Learning Center follows the Ravenswood City School District’s calendar, operating from late August to mid-June.
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays: 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Wednesdays: 1:30 pm – 6:00 pm.
Our core group of students are 3rd-5th graders from the Ravenswood City School District who are required to attend a minimum of 3 days per week and are helped in the Quest area of the library. Our 6th-12th graders are drop-in students who receive assistance on an as-needed basis in other areas of the library.
3rd-5th graders participate in literacy enrichment, homework assistance, academic skill-building activities, mentoring, and guidance. Quest offers field trips, special events, and other incentives for students who work hard on completing their homework assignments, strive to fulfill their educational goals, and attend Quest regularly. Parent workshops are also provided to help families assist their children with academics and to improve communication with teachers and school administrators. Quest is staffed by a full-time Director, part-time Tutor Supervisors, part-time Tutors/Mentors, and a corps of dedicated Volunteers. The Quest team works closely with students, their families, and their classroom teachers to improve their mastery of all school subjects, especially English and Math. We help students develop self-confidence and become part of a creative, literate, and interested community of learners.
