Belmont Library Teen Poetry Contest
Show Us Your Creative Side
March 1 - April 15
Enter the Belmont Library's annual Poetry Contest. Middle and high school students are invited to submit up to three original poems, no longer than 30 lines, that will be judged by grade level, original content, style, vocabulary, and creative expression.
Contest Rules
- All poems must be printed neatly or typed. Poems will not be returned.
- We will select one winner from middle school and one from high school.
- The winning poems will also be entered into a national contest held by VOYA (Voice of Youth Advocates) in December and possibly published nationally.
- By entering your poem, you give us permission to post or publish your poem online or in the library.
- Contest runs from March 1st through April 15th. Winners will be contacted by phone or email by April 22nd and their poems will be displayed in the Teen Zone.
All participants are encouraged to attend the April 25th winners ceremony and Poetry Slam.
1st Place: $50.00 VISA Gift Card
2nd Place: $35.00 VISA Gift Card
3rd Place: $25.00 VISA Gift Card
