Cyrus Cylinder And Ancient Persian Art: Docent Lecture

Inscribed on the Cylinder in Babylonian cuneiform is the law of King Cyrus setting forth religious tolerance throughout the ancient Persian Empire and the right of deported people to return to their homeland. This docent lecture examines the Cylinder, along with other ancient objects, on exhibit at the Asian Art Museum from August 9-September 20, 2013. This presentation will be rounded out with ancient Persian art works from the Asian’s permanent collection.
