Rembrandt’s Century: Docent Lecture

Image:

On exhibit from January 26 to June 2, 2013, at the deYoung Museum, Rembrandt’s Century displays a wide range of drawings largely from the collection of works on paper from the 17th century in the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts. This docent lecture sheds light on a fascinating roster of artistic personalities, both famous and forgotten, of the late Mannerist and Baroque eras. Examples of engravings, ambient etchings, exquisite ink drawing, fanciful watercolors and more illustrate the enormous range and appeal of printmaking and drawing techniques in the time of Rembrandt.
