On Sunday, December 9 at 3:00 pm, Juliet Blackwell will be reading from her new novel, Murder on the House, at the Belmont Library. A wine and cheese reception will precede the event and a book-selling and signing will follow.
About the Book
Murder on the House is the third book in the Haunted Home Renovation series, the popular mystery series set in San Francisco. In this installment, Mel Turner wants the chance to restore an historic house in San Francisco’s Castro District. The catch: Mel has to spend one night in the house to win the project. But during the spine-chilling sleepover, the estate gains another spectral inhabitant—when someone doesn’t survive the night.
A Huge Fan
My friend Tessa introduced me to Juliet Blackwell last year. We were talking about books over coffee and she said I had to pick up a Juliet Blackwell novel. I don’t usually read mysteries, but Tessa was the friend who told me to read Harry Potter when we were in the sixth grade, so I trust her taste in books! I decided to try the Haunted Home Renovation series, since I was intrigued by the historic home renovation aspect. I was immediately hooked and devoured the novel pretty quickly.
The books are set in San Francisco and I enjoyed all the references to various areas of the city. I patiently waited for the second book to come out and ordered Dead Bolt from the library as soon as it was available. Again, I found that I couldn’t put the book down. I was so excited when Juliet Blackwell agreed to speak at the Belmont Library!
In addition to the Haunted Home Renovation series, Juliet Blackwell has also written two other mystery series. Juliet Blackwell, a pseudonym, writes the Witchcraft Mystery series, also set in San Francisco, and, along with her sister, wrote the Art Lover’s Mystery series as Hailey Lind.
Stephanie C is a huge fan of Juliet Blackwell and is looking forward to meeting her next week. She has been waiting for a year to find out what happens next to Mel Turner and plans to bring the book with her to Hawaii so she can enjoy it while relaxing on the beach. She hopes to see you at the Belmont Library on Sunday, December 9 at 3:00 pm for this exciting program!
