A Hidden Treasure: the SFO Aviation Museum and Library

SFO Aviation Museum & LibraryLocated in the pre-security area of the International Terminal and open to the public, the SFO Aviation Museum & Library is definitely worth seeking out sometime when you are at the airport. Admission is free.

The main room is an architectural adaptation of the airport's passenger lobby in the 1930s. Collection holdings include over 17,000 artifacts and 8,000 books. Check out this aircraft passenger seat from the 1920s!

Can't make it to the museum? Don't worry! You can find out about Bay Area aviation from the book San Francisco Bay Area Aviation by William T Larkins.
