Make a New Year's Resolution to Join a Book Club!

Another Year, Another Resolution

New Year candle photo by Optical IllusionEvery year I make a long list of New Year's Resolutions--by the middle of January, I have broken most of them.

However, last year one of my resolutions was to join a book club, and I am happy to say that I started the 20-30 Something Book Club at the Pacifica Sharp Park Library in January 2009. More than one year later, we are still going strong!

Titles We Enjoyed

In August, we read Alive in Necropolis by Doug Dorst  and for our meeting, we went on a tour of the Colma Cemeteries.

Some of the other books we have read are The Watchmen by Alan Moore, Kick Me: Adventures in Adolescence by Paul Feig, Dracula by Bram Stoker, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire, and Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk.

Book clubs are a great way to meet new people and talk about interesting books. Check out the San Mateo County Library events calendar  to find a book club near you!
