Blakroc CD coverI Love It When Two Worlds Collide!

Blakroc is the self-titled album by blues-rock duo The Black Keys and various hip-hop artists including Mos Def, Ludacris, and RZA among others. This album was released back in 2009 and it’s fast becoming one of my favorites. My most listened to tracks are "Coochie" and "Why Can’t I Forget Him".

Speaking Of The Black Keys . . .

I have to give a load of thanks to my sister who turned me on to The Black Keys. The band is made up of two guys from Ohio, one on vocals/guitar and the other on drums. Their most recent release titled Brothers is newly available at SMCL. Other titles by the Black Keys worth looking into are Rubber Factory, Magic Potion, and Attack & Release. These titles are also available from SMCL so get to listening! You won’t be disappointed.

Upcoming Show

If you enjoy live music make sure to check out The Black Keys, who will be performing at the Fox Theatre in Oakland in September. A second show was recently added, don’t miss out!
